Of course Pratts was sold off to property developers because the council wouldn't allow them to have a much needed car park, then the horrible cheap shops that took the space like Argos and Lidl were granted a car park. Smack of corruption, it wouldn;t have happened in somewhere like Chelsea or Westminster. Pullman Court, designed by Gibberd in 1935, is a total delight from the front and the side. But Corner Fielde, by Toms only two years later, is bulky and boring.<br /><br />And it doesn't have to be a residential building.
